12-28-11 – Birmingham, AL>Atlanta, GA – I’m in a rock n roll band and am currently recording our debut record. I’m looking for someone to play blues harp on a song. I’m looking for someone who has pro-tools so that this can all be done on the internet and not have you come to the studio. Especially since I am not from Alabama, I’m only posting here because I’ve been posting all over the country because I have had extreme difficulty finding someone to do this because the key of the song is A flat and not everyone has a blues harp that is in the correct key. However, I was once told that blues harp is always 3 keys up so the right one to play in would actually be D. I’m unsure if this is true or not? So please let me know if you can help me out. Also, I know 20 dollars is not much, but starving artists should help eachother out, right? How it’d work is I’ll send you the mp3, you record harmonica over it and send it back, then if I think it sounds good, I send you 20 bucks and you send a wav file of just the harmonica track. You can have complete artistic freedom to write any part over the entire song since I know nothing about harmonica-playing and also especially since the song is an instrumental. Looking for both male and female voice talent for commercial and corporate work. You may work from your own home if you have professional studio equipment and can supply VO in quality digital format – or you can record in our studio here in Reno. This is for on-going voice work in multiple industries – having a wide range of moods/emotions for various client types (banks, automobiles, sandwich shops, medical, concerts/events etc.) always helps. To be considered as a regular voice-over talent, you must submit a voice reel as part of your reply. If you don’t have a big reel, but believe you can belt it out of the park if given the chance, just grab a few print ads and read the copy as if doing a radio or tv commercial. If you don’t have professional audio equipment, spend a few bucks on a mic and plug it into your computer and record into that (all newer Windows and Mac OS machines have decent enough recording programs built in to where you can record an example of your voice talent). 09-07-11 – Dallas, TX>Austin, TX – Female vocalist auditions open for a performing cover rock band in Dallas.

We have been giging for nearly 2 years averaging around 1-2 gigs/month. We have a current repetoire of around 50 songs but typically perform 30 or so.

You must provide the following to be considered for an audition:.
o Sample of your voice (mp3 or wav file)
o Picture of yourself

Other necessary criteria that we will be looking for:
o You must have confidence, high energy and attitude to capture the audience as our front person
o No prior stage experience is required but is obviously preferred
o You must be willing to first learn our current set lists before suggesting new material
o You must be willing to use your image and likeness on promotional materials and press
o You must be willing to make one practice a week and 1-2 Fri/Sat Gigs / month – (we practice in Flower Mound after 7 but we are flexible on times, and most of our gigs are in Dallas / Denton)
o We are not at the bottom but we still aren’t making tons of money so you have to be okay with that. We are preforming regularly though so it’s just a matter of time as we move up.
o No drug use is tolerated or being under the influence at gigs or at practice
o Social drinking is okay – we limit our selves when we play so that we can maximize our performances
o We are looking for fun talented professionals that don’t have a huge egos and are looking to get some experience and have some fun.

About our Band
o It’s about the fun: This band is all about the fun and good times. We are very serious about our craft and our performances but we also don’t forget to have fun and not sweat the small stuff
o Longevity: The band has been together for over 2 years. In 2010 we did 14 shows and we hope to do more than that this year in 2011.
o PR: I prefer not to list the clubs that we have played but are largest venue was 500-1000 audience members last September. We have had press in minor rags and we have over 4000 on our mailing lists.
o Pay: There is limited pay for this position – the money we make in an evening is limited right now. If we make less than 750 then we throw the money in the pool for PR, advertising, equipment etc. The band as a group decides how to spend those funds. If the money exceeds that amount for a gig then we will divide the earnings equally amongst each member. Every dime earned and spent is available for each member to review.
o Goals: Our target is to play the casino tours in Oklahoma and Louisianna. We are also looking to play larger events around the country. We have no aspirations for record contracts but we would welcome a reality show or documentary.
o Bookings: We are being invited back to regular clubs in Dallas so we are actively performing.
o Current Set List: The current set list consists of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and more recent. Artists covered included G&R, Journey, Modern English, Softcell, Roxette, Donnas, Bon Jovi, Killers, Katie Perry, JET, Lady Gaga, 3 Doors Down, Bowie, Stones etc. etc. All the songs selected are high energy, popular, and danceable. We have nearly 40 songs we can perform as a group and the list is ever changing. We do plan to add 1 or 2 original songs but have not really worked on that aspect – we want to get a full 5 hours of material together before embarking on original material. We do not currently perform original music but are open to writing new material – although the focus is cover right now.
o Members: All of the current members are 35+ in age, we are all married and have professional lives outside of the band. However, for all of us we are committed to taking this group to the next level.
o Band Concept: We primarily perform in the alternative lifestyle community – so you have to be open to the GLBT community. Your sexual orientation doesn’t matter – just that you can’t be prejudice or have any issues with that.
We will provide the band name, website and sample productions to serious inquiries. We prefer to hold that back due to the fact we don’t want to expose to the public, our current commitments or press that we are currently in search for a vocalist.
